We hold these truths to be self evident.
The intention of this document is to establish a foundation for which best describes the culture and behavior that we strive for while co-existing in the Lords of Karma guild.
I. Guild chat should be kept clean and lighthearted.
Mild cussing while acceptable should not be taken overboard. Words or phrases that are obviously offensive will be frowned upon and result in a request to tone the language down. Joking and picking on one another is completely acceptable as long as things are kept civil and feelings are not hurt. Consider that we have children as young as 10 years old in the guild and keep that in mind when choosing your words. At no time is it acceptable to commit personal attacks of a serious nature on the guild channel. Keep private matters private.
II. Loot drama is highlyshunned.
If there is a conflict over loot, members should refer to the loot guidelines on the guild website. If everyone remembers to be generous to your guild members and give before taking there should never be a problem. Lords of Karma was built around a very strong sense of giving over taking. Please keep this in mind when dealing with upgrades and guild members.
III. Asking for help is expected.
However, repetitious requests over a long-term will likely result in other members growing numb or deaf to your requests. Remember that everyone is likely already doing something they need to do and any help you do receive should be received in a gracious manner. Getting help is a privilege not a right. Complaining about people not helping you is the fastest way to make people not want to help you. A good philosophy to keep is to always offer more help than you request.
IV. Guild Crafting.
While crafting within the guild should never be a money-making venture, tipping crafters for their time is a polite thing to do. If a crafting involves a cool down period then realize that the crafter is cutting into their money making potential by crafting for you and you should offer an appropriate tip.
V. Guild Behaviour
Always treat your fellow guild members with the utmost respect and generosity.
VI. Represent the guild well.
During your travels in the game always present yourself in a way that will bring honor to the Lords of Karma guild. Never act in a manner that will bring shame or ill fame to the guild.
These are not rules set in stone but a general concept of standards for behavior while in the guild. While deviation from the stated text in this document does not guarantee immediate guild removal, it will give individuals a good understanding as to what we consider to be or not to be compatible with the greater portion of our guild culture. Long-term patterns of behavior that is considered incompatible can result in removal from the guild.
